Nova Classical Academy Reviews

We love the teachers and the richness of the curriculum, but, what concerns us is the board of directors and the lack of resources (and tolerance) if your child struggles in reading or math. The board has yet again fired another highly regarded principal and seems to careless with twice exceptional learners.

We enrolled our sixth grader at Nova several weeks into the school year. My daughter was at the top of her class in SPPS, and bored. At Nova she is challenged and happy. Because she had not been challenged previously, she did not have the foundation of study skills initially. The middle school staff communicated with one another and with us, ensuring she built a solid foundation of study skills and got on track academically.

This is a great school that focuses solely on academics and classical education. I love that they wear uniforms because it takes the focus off of fashion in school. I feel that this charter school is like a private school without the tuition. The only thing that I'm a bit discouraged about is they may not have high school ready for current 7th grade students. I sure hope this changes. Nova is a great school.

Exceeded my expectations! I for one am glad that the focus is on academics and not sports. My daughter was at the top of her class at a SPPS but had to catch up to other students at Nova. Now a year later, she's really blossomed and I couldn't be happier with the school. This school should be the model for charter schools.

We had to wait a year to get in but it was worth switching. The academic focus and curriculum are excellent but what we have been most impressed by is the ability of the teacher to meet the needs of the students' changing ability over the year. The level of parent involvement required is high since it is still a start-up charter but it is very well run and managed.

Nova is an excellent school with an outstanding curriculum. The music and art programs are top notch, but sports aren't really a part of nova outside of gym. I do believe that will change soon.
