HOW WAS AFTERALL CREATED?

AFTERALL's fate was decided in the fall of 1998 when the band ended up living together before they had ever met each other. Tim went to the University of St. Thomas while Sam went to the University of Minnesota. Currently the band still lives and performs in the Twin Cities.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE SOUND OF AFTERALL?

This two-piece band had an immediate chemistry. Sam and Tim had many different musical influences; but at the same time, they also had many influences they had in common. Sam's influences range from the dark and driving music of Alice in Chains and Days of the New to other artists like Nick Drake. Tim's influences range from the sonic sound of U2 to the subtle and melodic sound of Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake. With a focus on strong song writing and blending and refining various influences, AFTERALL has an alternative, folk, rock, sound.

WHAT ARE AFTERALL's RECORDINGS?

After writing and performing fifteen of our original songs for about a year and a half, it was time to go into the studio. The first recording from AFTERALL was a self titled, six song EP completed at Orphan Records in July of 2000. The goal of the EP was to focus on melodic, well-written acoustic songs. Since the recording of the EP, AFTERALL has written many songs and actually has released a live CD. 

WHERE HAVE THESE GUYS PLAYED?

AFTERALL has played at numerous clubs in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. These clubs include; The Fineline a number of times, The Urban Wildlife, Chaing Mai Tai, The Freighthouse, Sweeney's, Gabe's, Plum's numerous times, and they have also played at a few colleges. AFTERALL's sound has attracted many different demographics of fans because it is music people can relate to.
